As a coach, one of my favorite things is to celebrate a client’s success with them. Acknowledging the attainment of goals and the challenging work that went into that goal is a special moment for both of us. Personally, like many people, I find it difficult to celebrate my own success. My method is to pause for a brief period, then figure out what is next and start working on it! Today I would like to share two achievements and share what is next.
First Achievement – I earned my CPC (Certified Professional Coach) when I graduated ICA (International Coach Academy) in July. Through this training, I learned how to coach clients through powerful life transformations. This learning occurred in an international community and I made friends for life with many people of diverse cultures. I cannot thank the faculty and students of ICA enough for all the learning, sharing, and book recommendations.
Second Achievement – I earned my ACC (Associate Certified Coach) credential from ICF (International Coaching Federation). The credential is not required to become a coach. Many fine coaches do not have one and I opened my practice prior to certification. However, ICF is dedicated to continual learning and growth of the coaching profession and upholds a strong code of ethics. The knowledge assessment exam is comparable to the GRE needed for entry to graduate school. I earned this credential to offer excellent value to my amazing clients.
OK, so what’s next? You may have noticed I am infected with a positive outlook on life. Two practices that are very important to me are gratitude and giving back. Many studies of well-being include gratitude and report benefits such as increased health and happiness. DYG Coaching will offer a free 30-day gratitude journaling workshop in November. A community Facebook group will be available for you to sign up in late October. Daily gratitude writing prompts will be posted and you can share your gratitude online within our community or privately in your own journal. Did I mention it is free? Your only investment will be your time and your gratitude.
Thank you for celebrating with me today. I look forward to celebrating gratitude with you for thirty days in November.
