Babies proudly take their first steps around one year of age. Adults may have mastered the art of walking, but we are terrified of taking first steps – something babies do fearlessly.
A big goal, broken down into small mini-goals becomes much easier to accomplish. Have you ever tackled a large goal? Weight loss, college degree, moving, or even a marathon? Did you do everything in one day? Or even one week? Or did you do it one bite-size piece at a time? The daily action planner has a term for pushing just a small step outside our comfort zone – Brave Baby Action Step (BBAS).
Cindy is a couch potato who wants to run a marathon. Running 26.1 miles is a BIG goal. She set her first BBAS to walk a mile per day. Her next BBAS was to alternate jogging and walking for one mile per day. Then she pushed it to a mile and a half, two miles, three miles, and ran a 5k race. Now she is working on those brave baby action steps towards a half-marathon. She is well on her way.
What is the big goal in your life? What BBAS are you going to take this week to get a tiny bit closer to your achievement? Stay tuned for an upcoming free webinar showcasing tips and tricks to use the daily action planner to achieve your greatness in your life.
